What does it mean if I mark a document as ‘privacy-sensitive’?
A document marked as privacy-sensitive may be deleted sooner than other submitted work. Use this option, for example, for a document containing personal information about yourself or others. Along with the document, the plagiarism report and any feedback or notes associated with it will also be deleted.
How do I mark a document as privacy-sensitive?
Next to the document in the activity, there is a button labeled ‘(not) privacy sensitive’. Click it and confirm your choice. If the button is blue, the document is marked; if it is grey, it is not. You can adjust this setting yourself as a student, and the teacher can do so as well, at any point from the moment the document is uploaded until the final stage of the attempt.
I don't see the option. How is that possible?
Your school determines whether and where the option is available. If you do not see the button next to a document, marking is not possible there.
When will my document be deleted, then?
That depends on the retention period set by your school. This period begins as soon as the attempt has been published. Not sure how long your school retains privacy-sensitive documents? Check with your student administration or study programme.
What happens after the removal?
In the activity, you will only see that the document has been deleted. The assessment itself remains, but it can no longer be revised, as the document is required for that purpose. Do you want to keep a document—for your portfolio, for example? Then save a copy yourself.
